Here's a 30 minute Video on How To Use MemLok
My Unlock Code never came, just my Receipt.
Remember, your unlock code is ALWAYS available for you at www.memlok.com/shop Just log in with your email the the password you used when you bought. The only people who do not receive their code by email are ones with a spam catcher turned on. The instructions at the time of the download warned to turn it off. No problem. Simply follow the instructions in the "I've lost my code." section to follow. Sorry for the delay.
I cannot place my order!
Do you have a Pop-up Stopper? Google has a great one. Some people need to turn that off when doing secure orders (Like at MemLok). Usually you just hold down Control while clicking whatever won't work.
I've lost my code...my computer crashed...I got a new computer...I've lost my CD...How do I get up and running again?
No problem. (But, so sorry if you lost all your data!!! Please be sure to back up regularly - File/Backup to a floppy...Then, you can do File/Restore once you are on the new computer or have your old one up and running.)
The program is always available HERE Get your free 100 Descriptions of God HERE Be Patient. It's slow opening up this one.
Adobe Acrobat will open this file (you probably already have this program on your computer. Try clicking on it. This program is free here
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html
The code for owners is always re-issuable and you can download as often as you need to. See "My Unlock code never came" above.
If you bought before 2008, please email me at the email you see below (gmail). Make certain you tell me the translation of the Bible you purchased to memorize in.
Can I install MemLok on more than one computer?
For family use, of course, including your office computer!
I have lost my review record of about 150 verses when my computer got a virus. Is there anyway I can add these verses back into my new computer.
If you backed up to a floppy, CD or another method (File/Backup), yes. If not, hopefully you printed out your Completion Record so you know the order in which you learned them. You can also put your verses (cards if you printed them) in order from oldest to newest and "Accept" them one at a time in the software.
While in Browse Verses or Browse Topics, by clicking Options/Turn off Confirm New Verse Selection will speed it up some. Note: enter from oldest to newest.
Installation Challenges :)
I cannot find the MemLok I downloaded!
Are you sure you downloaded from http://www.memlok.com/setup.exe HERE
Takes about 45 minutes on 56K modem. Less than 5 if on cable or broadband.
Press Start/Find/Find Files
Type setup.exe in "Named"
Make sure it is looking in "My Documents" or wherever you put it. If you didn't pay attention, look on your whole hard drive c:/
Click on it.
Guess who doesn't want you to find it.
I've bought but still don't have all the pictures.
Be sure you have the setup.exe file.
Close MemLok.
Delete the folder and all it's contents c:\Program Files\MemLok.
Reinstall (click on the setup.exe file)
It's asking for a code. I didn't get one.
The code is in the 2nd email you received when purchasing. It is also at www.memlok.com/shop Just LogIn (WAY UPPER LEFT) with your email and password. The first email is a confirmation only. You can follow the instructions above "I lost my code" or you can email us at the gmail address below.
Message: "16-bit MS-DOS Subsystem path to the program that you are trying to start or install C:\Windows\System32\Autoexec.nt The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application."
Answer:A recent Windows Update has caused this problem. The easiest solution is simply inserting the Windows XP CD into the CD drive and clicking Start/Run and entering:
expand X:\i386\autoexec.nt_ c:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt
Replace X:\ with your CD ROM drive letter.
If this doesn't help, download http://www.memlok.com/autoexec.zip and extract it into c:\windows\system32 If you get a message something like "computer doesn't know which program to use with this file (zip)", you should have an unzipping program as you'll get .zip files from the Internet all the time. Get a free program for this here: http://www.camunzip.com/
I enter my code and the installation program closes and returns to the place I have put my setup.exe file
We have had one customer with this problem and when he turned off his "firewall" program Black Ice, MemLok installed fine.
Message "Cannot Initialize Program" (or similar message when you try to open)
This means your download was incomplete. You need to do it again. The file size should be 8.44MB. (right click the file and click on Properties to find the size) Go to http://www.memlok.com/setup.exe, download it again, and put the file into My Downloads (or whatever Folder you have created to put anything you download into - I made that folder, then, I always create a new sub-folder under My Downloads when I download anything, and name it - since many files you download are called setup.exe). Then click on it. To see if it was fully downloaded, right click on the file and click on Properties to see the size.
This message also can come when the person trying to install is doing it on a Windows XP computer, but that person DOES NOT have administrator privileges (the authority to install new programs or make any changes to the operating system.) The solution is to ask that person do it. They may have to also "set permissions" for MemLok if the installation is to be used on a network.
Message: "Range Check Error"
First, you may need to hold down all at the same time "Ctrl-Alt-Del" and select MemLok to get it off your screen.
Assuming you have the cd or setup.exe file to reinstall.
The setup.exe file is here http//www.memlok.com/setup.exe HERE
Start/Programs/PC MemLok/Uninstall, answer all prompts "Yes"
Delete c\program Files\MemLok in Windows Explorer
Reinstall
Hopefully you have File/Backup in the past to keep up with your verses you had added. If so, you'd File/Restore after reinstall.
I tried to put Memlok on my son's desktop (we each have our own desktop with XP) and Memlok would not permit him access. Do I have to install it to his desktop?
This is the most likely explanation to your question: When you installed MemLok, you became the "owner" of the files in the sense of Windows. Your son does not have permission to write or possibly even read files from the memlok directory, depending on how your computer is setup. You need to find the memlok folder in Windows explorer, right-click on the folder and select "Properties". In the properties dialog select the security tab. If your son has an account on your computer, click "Add" and type in his username and then Ok. When you go back to the security page be sure to select "Full Control" for your son and then Ok.
Printing Questions
The Scripture is upside down on the back of the business card!
55% of the people preferred to "flip", not turn their wrist, to see the other side of the card. As long as you have the Scripture on the back, you are getting a correct printing. You were just in the 45% gang.
I cannot align the verses with the correct picture.
There are scores of printers, and many printers are different. There are only a total of 4 ways that the paper can be put in before and after printing the first side.
It is easiest to experiment by only selecting 1 picture for printing (why waste all that ink when experimenting). Also draw an arrow on the paper you put in for a reference to yourself on which way you put it in. When you get the correct Scripture behind the correct Verse, put a sticky on your printer "MemLok prints THIS WAY, because you may not print for another three months. One sheet gives you 12 weeks of cards.
