How to Best Use Your Time When Waiting In Line
By Drake Mariani, Founder, MemLok Bible Memory System
According to a Timex Survey, Americans Spend About 37 Billion Hours Each Year Waiting In Line Somewhere
On average, human beings spend approximately 6 months of their lives waiting in line for a number of things.
I was at a coffee shop the other day and to kill time I pulled out my phone. Later in the day I went to the store and pulled out my phone again while waiting in line.
It got me thinking about all the chunks of "line time" which are available to everyone when standing in line.
Although none of us like to wait in line but…
nowadays waiting seems unavoidable.
I came up with a short list of places I've stood in line recently AND spent some of that time staring at my phone...
At the bank
Hospital waiting room
Waiting for a cab
Riding on the train
Can you relate?
Time Spent Waiting in Line Is An Opportunity
Let's face it.
We spent a significant amount of our time waiting in line for something.
Have you ever thought to turn this torture of waiting time into an opportunity?
Instead of using our phone to watch news or check Facebook, how about using it to spend time in God’s word?
How about pulling out a Bible memory app instead of keeping up with the Kardashian's on social media?
Wouldn't that be a better use of your time?
Many times, as humans, we get caught up wasting a lot of time in things that don’t benefit us at all. I’m not asking you to stop watching news or checking Facebook using your phone. I do that many times myself but I truly believe in making the best use of my time while waiting in line.
How about you?
