Satan's Lie About Faith

Two men are in church discussing the sturdiness of the front pew.

The first man asks, "Do you believe this pew will support you?"

The second man replies, "Yes."

The first man responds, "OK, good. Let me ask you this, Is this pew supporting you  now?"

The second man replies, "No."

The first man asks, "Why not?"

The second man answers, "Because I'm not sitting in it."

Most everyone says they believe in God. The Bible says even the demons believe in God. But there is a distinction between those who believe in God, and don't accept Christ as their Lord and Savior, and those who believe in God, and do accept Christ.

Believing in God without the faith of accepting Him as Lord and Savior is like knowing the pew will support you without having sufficient faith to actually sit on it.

Satan's Lie: "You've believed in God since you were born. There's nothing more you need to do."

God's Reply: "You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that - and shudder." James 2:19 (NIV)

Today's motivation: "Faith is to believe what you do not see; the reward of this faith is to see what you believe." Saint Augustine
