How to Find Your Identity in Christ?

Do you believe God when He calls you His child or do you keep thinking “He is talking about someone else not me?”

Let’s admit.

We see ourselves in the light of our experiences. That moment when someone rejected us, abused us verbally, physically or emotionally or literally harmed us etc. made us question our worth. What our parents, teachers or someone else said about us have possibly made us embrace their words and labels as who we are.

Unfortunately, when we go through harsh times in our lives, we tend to become judgmental, overcritical, unforgiving and oftentimes angry and negative. But that’s not what God planned for us.

Our Creator doesn’t see us the way we see ourselves.

So how can we recognize our true identity? How can we see us as God sees us?

Accept Jesus As Lord and Savior

The first and foremost thing is to accept Jesus as your Lord.

Ask Him to wash you with His precious blood and come inside your heart.

The moment you are born again i.e. you repent, seek forgiveness for your sins and with your whole heart accept Jesus as your personal savior, you become a new person.

This essentially means that the way you saw yourself earlier is no longer valid because you have become NEW in Christ.

The Word says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” - 2 Corinthians 5:17

Your Identity in Christ is Your True Identity

God loves you and sees you as His child. If you have received Jesus as your Lord, then being the son and daughter of God Almighty is your right.

“To all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God” - John 1:12

Many times we don’t see ourselves the way God does because of our guilt that we did wrong in His sight. So now is the time to repent and claim your identity in Christ.

How can you do that?
