Surgeons’ 3 Step Method to Becoming Christ’s Witness
There Are Several Ways to Witness to Unbelievers. However, This Unusual, Yet Insanely Simple Method, Can Help You Become a Better Witness for Christ.
I'm reminded of a story a friend of mine told me awhile back. He's a surgeon with many years in medical school and teaching hospitals.
He told me the process of learning to become a surgeon has 3-steps.
Before I begin sharing those three steps, I would like to say that they are undoubtedly brilliant but quite simple.
Let’s look at them…
Here are the 3 steps surgeons use to become better at their craft.
1) Watch one
2) Do one, and
3) Teach one
Like I said, this 3-step process is brilliant and simple.
Each step engages the brain in a different way, leading to stronger retention of the subject matter. When you have to teach a subject you have learned, your understanding of the subject takes a massive leap forward.
That’s so true, right?
How You Can Use the Surgeon’s Method to Becoming a Better Witness for Christ
If you’re reading this far then you probably have watched dozens of those witnessing for Christ sermons.
But the question remains.
How to start witnessing for Christ?
Taking the first step is the most difficult and requires the most courage. Interestingly, becoming a better witness for Christ has it's own 3-step process which is remarkably similar to that of the surgeon.
The steps are:
1) Read God's word
2) Memorize God's word, and
3) Teach others about God's word
Here's what the scripture says…
“But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,...” 1 Peter 3:15
